How To Use LED Light Bulbs with High Quality Copper Lanterns and Outdoor Lighting

One of the most common questions we get is can I use LED light bulbs with my lantern?

Yes, all Lanternland lanterns can use standard LED light bulbs.

Let's take a look at a few of our favorite examples.

This is our Patrice Lantern with retrofit candelabra bulbs. They look the same as an incandescent candle bulb. The light color is virtually the same, the design is identical and the light output of each bulb is 35 to 40 watts and they use only 4 watts of electricity.

Why use LED Light Bulbs?

Energy Efficiency: LED Light bulbs emit very little heat. When compared to other lighting options LED lighting uses far less energy. Compared with a 60 watt light bulb, LED bulbs use a tenth of the energy of incandescent lamps. CFL lights fall somewhere in between but still use more than double the amount of energy of LED.

Long Life: LED light bulbs last about 50 to 100 times as long as an incandescent bulb. They also last about 5 to 10 times as long as a fluorescent light bulb .For example, if you purchase an LED decorative bulb today 2015 you should not need to replace it until......

Safety: LED bulbs do not contain potentially harmful gases or chemicals. CFL bulbs can contain mercury which is a neurotoxin.

Low Heat: LED Light bulbs emit very little heat which is an important consideration in warm climates or anywhere air conditioning is being used.

Value: The prices are becoming more reasonable every day. LEDS are a good long term investment. You do not need to purchase or change bulbs for years.

Sustainablity: Incandescent bulbs are going to be discontinued because they are not energy efficient. Compact fluorescents will also be discontinued because they are not environmentally friendly.  Led's provide better light output and look more like incandescent  than compact fluorescent.

Lanternland does not sell light bulbs but we are happy to refer you to an online source to purchase the lamps that you need for your lanterns. We suggest your local hardware store or 1000bulbs.com.
